Head Coach Dustin Robinson and his team are preparing for another year of boys varsity soccer at Elsberry and there are some big changes in store.

“We lost seven of our seniors from last year,” said Robinson. “That’s always tough.”

Added to that is the fact that Elsberry and Silex will be combining to form one soccer team this season.

That combination will add two students from Silex to Robinson’s team.

“That helps a little bit and we have six new freshmen coming in who are all very skilled players,” said Robinson. “It’s going to be an exciting year.”

Last season Robinson’s team finished several games below 500, but despite the fact that his new players will have to face numerous 4-A and 5-A teams this year he said his hopes are already high.
