Elsberry sends cream of the crop to Legion All Star Games
With the Elsberry Legion Baseball Season officially over, all eyes will now be turning to the A and AA All Star Games which will be played on July 26 in New Haven.
This year Elsberry will be well represented in both games.
At the A level, Post #226 will be sending John Hogan, Blake Kendall and Steve Boedeker, all of whom played on Jeff Keiser’s team this season.
Spencer Keiser was also selected from that team but is unavailable due to the fact that he will be playing in the Show Me State Games at that time.
Kendall said he feels it is a privilege to represent his team in the All Star Game and he thinks that competing at such a level will only serve to make him better when he returns to high school sports.
That aside, Kendall said he was a little nervous and planned to practice for the game as often and as hard as he could.
Kendall’s fellow teammates aren’t taking their selections to the team lightly either.
“I feel honored to be selected,” said Hogan. “There are many talented players and to be selected is great. My first year in Legion Baseball was challenging but fun and I learned a lot.”
