Legion Baseball in Elsberry is winding down for the summer but all three remaining teams were in action this past week determined to finish with a sprint.
Joe Pott’s AAA squad lost to St. Peters 18-0 on the road on July 8 but rebounded to defeat Oklahoma by a final score of 4-2 on July 9.
They followed that up with an 8-0 victory over Independence on July 10.
Pott’s team finished up their road trip with losses to Fikes Post 499 on July 10 and to Kansas Post 189 on July 11.
The scores of those games were 5-1 and 7-3, respectively.
“We started off on a good run during the first two pool games in Kansas City but went flat during the last two,” said Pott. “We’re sitting in fourth place in our district at 10 and 6 and we are strong overall. We hope to make a strong run in the district tournament.”
