Simpson and Lewis help raise money for Edwards family

Keira Simpson and Marissa Lewis, students in Jennifer Patton’s second grade classroom, announced on May 30 that they had raised money for the Gram Edwards family.
Gram is a 5-year old who has been battling leukemia.
His sister Lorene and brother Owen both attend Clarence Cannon Elementary School.
Simpson and Lewis, who are both classmates to Gram’s sister Lorene, made rubber band bracelets and sold them at their parents places of work.
Lewis raised $37 and chose to give $19 to the Edwards family and $18 to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Simpson raised $95 and donated all to Gram’s family.
Donielle Edwards, Gram’s mother, graciously accepted the $114 donation at the school on May 30 just prior to taking Gram to his next appointment.
“We are so proud of the leadership shown by both these students in taking this project on themselves and helping a local family,” said Elementary Counselor Donna Kientzy.
