Elsberry graduate Dustin Scott spent a 10-day leave from the military visiting family and friends in Elsberry and St. Charles.

Scott, whose leave ended on April 22, said the thing he misses most about living and going to high school in Elsberry is having the opportunity to see his friends on a daily basis.

Scott enlisted in the Marines after high school and is currently completing Marine Combat Training [MCT] at Camp Pendleton, California.

“My family was happy and accepting of the fact that I enlisted in the Marine Corps,” said Scott. “My father is a Marine and my grandpa was in the Navy.”

Upon his successful completion of MCT schooling, Scott will head to either Fort Leonard Wood or to a military base in Texas for nine weeks in order to participate in Military Occupational Specialty [MOS] training.
