The Elsberry FFA Chapter hosted a practice competition on March 15 to help area students prepare for district and state level competitions that will take place later in the spring.
“This was the first event like this that we have ever hosted here,” said Elsberry FFA Advisor Jason Vandivort. “The officers and advisors all sat down and created a list of all the different contest areas and where we might be able to host all of them. We were more of a host facility for the contest. Many of the other agriculture teachers helped run the individual contests.”
Approximately 55 students from the Elsberry FFA Chapter competed in the contest and they were joined by roughly 600 students from 22 other schools.
