U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service releases environmental assessment
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking public input on a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the construction of a new pump house and habitat rehabilitation work at the Clarence Cannon National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) located one mile east of Annada, Missouri.
The EA is currently available for public review and comments will be accepted through March 28.
The draft document outlines the purpose for the pump house and habitat work proposed at the Clarence Cannon NWR.
Among the topics addressed in the EA will be the proposed need for action, alternatives considered, affected environment and environmental consequences.
Involving other people and agencies is an important part of the planning process.
The draft document will consider input from other federal agencies, state agencies, non-government organizations and individuals.
Copies of the draft EA are available at area libraries and on the Service’s web site, which is http://www.fws.gov/refuge/clarence_cannon/.
Copies are also available by calling the refuge at 573.847.2333.
Public review of the draft EA began Feb. 26.
Comments are welcome anytime throughout the planning process, but to be considered as the final EA is prepared, comments must be received by March 28.
Comments can be submitted electronically (firstname.lastname@example.org) or can be mailed to the Clarence Cannon National Wildlife Refuge at:
