Lady Indians Tanner Bencomo and Amanda Jo Talbot stepped up after Brittni Hagemeier’s injury. Unfortunately, the Lady Indians fell to Warrenton 47-44.

The Elsberry Lady Indians lost to Warrenton in a 47-44 heart breaker at home on Feb. 12.

“We were ahead at one point and we could’ve won it,” said Head Coach Hector Bencomo. “It was within reach, but we just haven’t learned how to close the show yet.”

Bencomo said his team made a few errors toward the end of the game and turned the ball over quite a few times.

“We’re still missing those uncontested lay-ups,” said Bencomo. “Nobody’s stopping us but the rim. We can’t afford to make mistakes like that against good teams and Warrenton is a good team.”

Despite these mistakes, the Lady Indians managed to stay neck and neck with their opponents for the entire game.
