Committee Chairpersons Claire O’Brien, Alex Boedeker and Maggie Spratt are recognized for their hard work prior to and during the event.

On Feb. 14, students in Matthew Easley’s government classes hosted a mock legislation day in the high school gymnasium.

The event was patterned after the YMCA-based Missouri Youth in Government project that Easley has been involved with for the last eight years.

Easley said he had always considered doing something like this, but he never took the plunge until last year when he was still teaching at Bowling Green.

This was his first year to try something of this nature at Elsberry.
