County inmates volunteer to clean the new bright futures building

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAInmates with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office volunteered their time to help clean and paint the temporary Lincoln County Bright Futures building in Troy.

Bright Futures is an organization that brings schools, community, human services, businesses and faith-based community organizations together to fill basic needs for children.

Bright Futures recently acquired a donated space form a generous local businessman to help support the ongoing community needs.

“I reached out to my Jail Commander, David Curtis, to gage volunteer interest from our trustee inmates to help clean the office space,” said Sheriff John Cottle. “Before I knew it, we had inmates lining up to help the cause and the cleaning supplies were already donated.”

During the 2012 -2013 school year, Bright Futures met more than 20,000 individual and 600 classroom needs to benefit the school children of Lincoln County.
