Deputy Riney retires after 40 years

Lincoln County Sheriff John Cottle presents a plaque to Deputy Howard Riney for his 40 years of service to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Lincoln County Deputy Charles Howard Riney has called it a career after 40 years of service to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

He was honored in a crowded room full of friends, co-workers and well-wishers on Jan. 15.

Deputy Riney served as both a reserve and full-time deputy since 1973.

Sheriff John Cottle presented Riney with an appreciation plaque recognizing his service to the public and Lincoln County.
